One of the things that you should do is to have the moving company come to your house to look at everything. If you are moving in a month, you need to know that the quote that you are given is still going to be good in a month. Getting a good quote for a move is great, but finding out that it is only good for two weeks isn't as good if your move is in a month. So, just check with the movers to see how long the quote is viable for. 

Ask About Extra Fees

Extra fees might not show up on the quote, so make sure that you ask about them. Those fees can include paying for very heavy things, oddly shaped things, or antique furniture. You don't want to get surprised with extra fees when you are doing the final payment, so make sure to ask about them before you commit to that mover.
